About

Ludwig Erhard (1897-1977) was chancellor of West Germany from 1963 to 1966. He is most known for his role as a leader of the Wirtschaftswunder (the German Economic Miracle), which was an unprecedented period of economic growth in postwar West Germany that brought many out of severe poverty.
