What You’ll Do
The Mexico City Hackathon is a week-long event for Latin American college students with experience or interest in technology, entrepreneurship, and free-market ideas. You will build, pitch, and innovate unique solutions to local educational, economic, and social issues using cutting-edge AI tools.
The Hackathon is hosted in partnership with the Universidad de la Libertad, at their campus in Mexico City, and includes participation in the Radical Innovation Summit, placing you in the broader Latin American innovation and venture ecosystem.
What You’ll Get
This Hackathon is a gateway to connect you with funding opportunities, companies, local entrepreneurs, job opportunities, and more. You will join an atmosphere of entrepreneurs focused on improving their communities with real-world solutions.
The winning team will earn a prize to build their concept.
How It Works
1. Concept Development
Define an education-related challenge and pitch a market-based solution.
2. Prototype Building
Create a functional tech demo using earned resources.
3. Final Pitch
Present your solution to a panel of judges and peers.
Teams will receive a gift card to choose the AI licenses they wish to use. During our hackathon, students will have the opportunity to receive project feedback from successful entrepreneurs in the tech industry to ensure the feasibility and innovation of the project.
What to Expect
Tuesday
Arrival & Opening Dinner
Check in, welcome dinner, and an opening address framing the week’s central questions.
Wednesday
Full Day of Programming
Morning is programming, brainstorming, and ideating. Afternoon is rapid prototyping. Evening is dinner featuring a Radical Innovation Summit speaker.
Thursday
Radical Innovation Summit
Participants will attend programming at the Radical Innovation Summit all day.
Friday
Final Presentation
Participants will finalize their presentations in the morning. Final pitches and winner announcement in the afternoon.
No Cost to Attend
Every accepted participant attends on scholarship
Accepted participants receive a full scholarship covering programming, shared lodging, and meals — and a partial scholarship covering some travel costs.

The Hackathon is for Latin American college students with experience or interest in technology, entrepreneurship, and free-market ideas.
Some familiarity with coding, AI, and entrepreneurship would be helpful, but not necessary. We’re looking for a mix of applicants, from experts to beginners, who are interested in the topic.

You don’t need to apply for a scholarship. You will receive one if your Hackathon application is accepted.

After the event, you will submit receipts to a form sent to you by FEE staff.
Business casual for all participants.
A significant portion of the Hackathon will be in English. Some of the programming may be in Spanish. Students must have some proficiency in both languages to participate.
You will compete on teams of three to four people to bring your idea to life. We encourage you to form a team in advance. While teams representing their school or organization are given priority, we still encourage individuals or mixed teams to apply. Each person in the team must apply separately, and you may add preferred teammates to your Hackathon application.
You don’t have to sign up separately. If your Hackathon application is accepted, you will be able to attend the Radical Innovation Summit during our scheduled program hours. We’ll take care of your registration.
