Congress Still Hooked on Pork


“Despite congressional protests to the contrary, a watchdog group charged Tuesday that pork-barrel spending is alive and well in Washington, and may even be growing. Citizens Against Government Waste, an advocacy group …, said in its annual ‘Congressional Pig Book’ report that Congress will spend $19.6 billion on special earmark projects in 2009, an increase of $2.4 billion.” (Chicago Tribune, Wednesday)
