About
Dr. Clara Mengolini is assistant professor of Spanish literature at Mercer University. She received her PhD in Spanish literature from Vanderbilt University, her M.A. in Spanish literature from University of South Carolina, and her B.A. in Latin-American literature from University of Buenos Aires.
Her research area focuses on Latin American literature of the 20th and 21st centuries. In particular, Dr. Mengolini is interested in fantastic literature and children’s Latin American literature. Dr. Mengolini has published essays in prestigious academic journals, such as Chasqui and Hispania, among others. She is working on several projects related to indoctrination in children’s literature in Venezuela, Argentina, and Chile. During her free time, she likes to write short stories, swim, and create art with collage and watercolors.
