How do I know what to think?
We know what it’s like to hear lots of conflicting ideas about the economy. From the presidents of various countries to Facebook status updates, everyone seems to have their own opinion on how things should be run. And if you ask someone for clarification, oftentimes his or her response comes with a heavy dose of political bias. Equally so, we know what it’s like to want to express the economic ideas you’ve read, yet when it comes time to actually express them, you’re at a loss for words. We know that you want to find out the facts and think for yourself, not just hear more textbook answers. When you come to one of our free summer seminars, you will meet other students who are equally passionate and curious about the economic system that respects human dignity, individual rights, and offers opportunity to all.

Freedom Academy
Freedom Academy I: July 19-24; Estes Park, CO
Freedom Academy II: July 26-31; Atlanta, GA
We like to think of our seminars as a “meeting of the minds.” Specifically, student and faculty minds meeting with the practical ideas of the free market philosophy. FEE’s seminars offer a unique opportunity to spend a week with other high school students from around the country, learning from highly qualified speakers about the economic perspective that works: the ‘classical liberal’ perspective. The foundation of this perspective is the idea of the free economy, an economy in which individuals make choices without government interference. Our Freedom Academies address the American Founding, the growth of government, the myth of the robber barons, environmentalism, and the fundamentals of a sound economy.

A General Note to Parents, Teachers, and Students:
Because our summer seminars offer such a high quality of instruction, we are more than pleased to write letters for students that state the content from the week, or provide a ‘syllabus’ that covers the week’s events. Also, we are happy to recommend additional readings (especially for home-educators) for students who would like to incorporate their week at FEE into a larger exploration of economics.
