FEE Highlights: October 2017

None of these events, articles, and partnerships would be possible without your incredible support!

Offering Fresh Perspectives During 1-Day Programs

Thanks to your support, we recently hosted our largest 1-day program ever! The Morality of Capitalism was held at GSU Perimeter College – Dunwoody on October 27th and attracted more than 300 college students from the Atlanta area. 80% of these students said the ideas presented were new to them.

Students heard talks from passionate entrepreneurs like Magatte Wade and engaging professors including Anne Bradley as they provided real-world examples and personal stories of why capitalism is the best ethical path toward prosperity for everyone.

Planting Seeds of Economic Liberty in Greece

In mid-October, your support inspired FEE President Lawrence W. Reed to travel to Athens, Greece to help launch The Greek Liberties Monitor. This new organization aims to promote sound economic ideas in Greece, which is plagued with economic illiteracy.

To help educate the people of Greece with sound economic principles, Greek Liberties Monitor is targeting high schools, students entering universities, adult education initiatives, small and medium-sized enterprise incubator projects, and municipal/regional authority backed projects. Also, they recently translated FEE’s Economics in One Day course into Greek.

Ongoing Partnership With Boy Scouts of America

FEE continues to leverage our growing partnership with Boy Scouts of America (BSA) to help scouts nationwide earn their Entrepreneurship Merit Badge. In October, your support allowed us to host a workshop for around 50 scouts at Kennesaw State University in Georgia.

In September, your contributions enabled FEE staff Marianna Davidovich and Anna Jane Parrill to present the workshop at the Boy Scouts of America’s Merit Badge University in Marietta, GA. At this event, 100% of parents and scouts said it was a “productive use of time,” and 100% of scouts said they are “more interested in entrepreneurship after attending the event.”

Leveraging eBooks & eGuides to Reach New Audiences

As part of our broader marketing strategy, FEE has been producing a growing eBook and “essential guide” library. The essential guides cover a wide range of topics, such as FEE’s Guide to Health Care. And our eBooks include both new and old books, such as: Are We Rome and Your Life, Your Work.

This year, almost 100,000 eBooks and essential guides have been downloaded, with 41% of all downloads on Facebook coming from young audiences who have never heard of FEE. Because of your continued support, FEE can guide new audiences on a personalized journey to understanding the importance of liberty.
