Robert H. Tai
About the Author
Robert H. Tai, Ed.D., is an Associate Professor of Science Education at the Curry School of Education in the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education. He currently teaches courses on the Teaching of Elementary Science, Conceptual Change, and Review of Mathematics and Science Education Policy. However, he has previously taught a wide range of courses including those focused on readings and research in science education, educational technology, fundamentals of educational research, and issues in multicultural and urban education.
Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Virginia, Tai taught high school physics in Illinois and then Texas. He has served as both a research associate and teaching fellow in the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University. He was on the faculty of the College of Staten Island, City University of New York immediately after earning a Doctorate in Education from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
At the University of Virginia, Tai is fully involved in several grant funded research projects, the supervision and mentoring of doctoral students, and the production and dissemination of science education research. Tai received the Award for Education Research Leadership by the Council of Scientific Society Presidents in 2008.
