Born on this Date: Ludwig von Mises

Ludwig von Mises was born on this date in 1881. Mises accomplished so much in his long life and so much has been written about the great Austrian economist and political/social philosopher that trying to say anything is a daunting task. So I will simply refer readers to Edmund Opitz’s lecture “The Philosophy of Ludwig von Mises.” And for a further intellectual feast, type “Mises” into our search engine … and enjoy! This is probably the first thing I read about Mises. And have a look at last year’s Human Action commemorative issue of The Freeman.

Suffice it to say we are immensely better off because Mises lived, thought, and wrote.
