Smashing Records With the Inaugural FEEcon
Because of your unwavering support, FEEcon 2017 was the largest and most ambitious student event in FEE’s history, attracting 700+ attendees from 20 countries! FEEcon invited students to celebrate the uncommon heroes among us and inspired them to find ways to improve their life and the lives of others by being examples of liberty and character.
Attendees customized their conference experience by choosing from 70 educational sessions. It was a life-changing event for the student attendees, as well as for many of FEE’s supporters who attended. Be sure to mark your calendar for FEEcon 2018 in Atlanta on June 7-9th.
Captivating Thousands Through FEE Seminars
In 2017, FEE experienced continued growth in the number of students attending our 1-day and 3-day seminars. The total student attendance at in-person seminars in 2017 was 3,273 — a 55% increase over 2016!
Our 1-day and 3-day seminars are focused on reaching students who are new to the principles of a free society — and then inspiring them to embrace the freedom philosophy, economic way of thinking, and entrepreneurial spirit as keys to a prosperous, free, and civil society.
Engaging Students Worldwide Through FEE Articles
At FEE, we aim to be mainstream distributors of ideas to young people. In order to do this, we meet high school and college students where they are — usually online — and create engaging content that invites them to explore free-market ideas.
FEE published 2,589 articles by 729 different authors in 2017. And these articles had 16,906,160 individual views! Popular articles include: How Government Wrecked the Gas Can, This State Is Now “Protecting” You from Kerrygold Butter, The Amazing Arrogance of the Paris Climate Agreement, and What Ended the Great Depression?
Spreading Liberty on College Campuses Through the Campus Ambassador Program
Your support enabled FEE to launch our Campus Ambassador (CA) Program a year ago to empower bright, entrepreneurial college students to share their love of liberty and FEE on their college campuses. Today, we have over 140 Campus Ambassadors in 11 countries.
Campus Ambassadors distribute FEE material to their classmates and host educational events on their campuses. By empowering college students to share our message with their friends and classmates, we are creating future champions of liberty and leveraging our resources as an organization for maximum impact.
Sparking Conversations Through FEE Media
In 2017, FEE created many compelling videos focused on reaching young people who are unaware of free-market principles. Our most viewed video was, Common Sense Soapbox #1: Fake News is Old News. We hear it often, “Common sense just isn’t common anymore…” The series addresses important issues with a comedic flair and offers a pro-liberty perspective.
FEE continues to grow our online video library as part of our three-year media project funded by the John Templeton Foundation. Expect to see more great videos from FEE in 2018!
