President Touts Medicare Drug Benefit


[B]ehind the joking, Mr. Bush was engaged in an effort to take advantage of what the administration maintains is a slow evolution toward positive public opinion about the prescription drug benefit. That shift, Republicans say, could eventually provide an unexpected gain for their party in what has been shaping up as a bleak midterm election year. (New York Times, Wednesday)
