We at FEE are saddened to learn that Douglas Rogers, 26, author of The Freeman article “The Fiasco of Prohibition” (January/February 2011) was killed in a car accident recently. Doug was a Ph.D. candidate concentrating in the economics of crime at George Mason University and was studying under Professor Peter Boettke, a member of FEE’s board of trustees.
The Mercatus Center has established the Doug Rogers Memorial Student Fellowship.
Our deepest condolences to Doug’s family and friends.
