Freedom 101

This week we are in Denver, Colorado at Colorado Christian University for Freedom 101, which is the only high school seminar of the summer.  For some of them, this is the first time they are hearing about Austrian economics and free markets. The students are eager to learn and they always have a surplus of questions after each lectures.

This week has been great.  During the evenings of the past few nights we have shown two different movies. We watched The Call of the Entrepreneur and The Singing Revolution.  Both of them are great, inspirational movies that are not too long, so if you get the chance to watch them– do it.  The Singing Revolution was the one that really stuck out to me.  It is a documentary film about how the citizens of Estonia fought for their freedom from the oppression of Soviet control. After years of oppression, they finally gained independence in 1991. The film shows how Estonians used singing to spread the idea of independence and freedom fromI have had so many great conversations with students about what they wish to do after high school.  It is an encouragement to hear how many students are developing a passion for spreading freedom.  This week is life changing for many of the students.
