Jesús María Alvarado Andrade
Jesús María Alvarado Andrade is a lawyer and scholar based in Guatemala, specializing in constitutional and public law. He currently serves as Director of the Postgraduate School at Universidad Francisco Marroquín (UFM), where he also leads the UFM Law & Liberty Circle—a Federalist Society initiative—and teaches Constitutional Law. He has held a tenure-track academic career in Venezuela, teaching at Universidad Central de Venezuela, Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, Universidad Simón Bolívar, and Universidad Monteávila.
In Guatemala, he has served in leadership roles at the School of Government (Escuela de Gobierno), first as Treasurer (2019) and then as President (2020), contributing to institutional development and civic education.
Alvarado holds a Master’s in Global Rule of Law and Constitutional Democracy from the University of Genoa (Italy), a Master’s in Legal Argumentation from the University of Alicante (Spain), and is a PhD Candidate in Law at Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires (Argentina).
He is the author of several academic articles and co-author of books on public law. He has spoken at academic and professional conferences across Latin America and the United States, contributing to regional conversations on constitutionalism and institutional reform.
