Matt Zwolinski
Matt Zwolinski is Professor of Philosophy at the University of San Diego, director of USD’s Center for Ethics, Economics, and Public Policy, and co-director of USD’s Institute for Law and Philosophy. He writes on Substack at The Bleeding Heart Libertarian.
Matt has written extensively on issues related to libertarian political theory, sweatshop labor, price gouging, universal basic income, and the history of ideas.
He is the author (with John Tomasi) of The Individualists: Radicals, Reactionaries, and the Struggle for the Soul of Libertarianism (Princeton, 2023), and (with Miranda Perry Fleischer) of Universal Basic Income: What Everyone Needs to Know (Oxford, 2023). He is the editor (with Benjamin Ferguson) of The Routledge Companion to Libertarianism (Routledge, 2022) and Exploitation: Perspectives from Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (Oxford, 2024). His textbook in political philosophy, Arguing About Political Philosophy, is now available in its third edition from Routledge.
