Payroll Tax Fight Reaches Temporary Truce

“If you enjoyed President Obama’s battle with House Republicans over the payroll tax cut extension, you won’t have to wait long for the sequel. After all, the new congressional agreement is only for two months — and the parties, while expressing support for a year-long extension of the tax cut, still don’t agree on how to pay for it. The House and Senate are expected to approve the two-month deal this morning, and Obama is expected to sign it later today.” (USA Today)

This may be progress. They used to deny this was a tax and claim it was an insurance premium.
