Plagued by charges of corruption, Boston's $14.6-billion 'Big Dig' claimed its first fatality after tonnes of concrete fell from a tunnel ceiling and crushed a car, prompting severe criticism over safety standards at America's biggest public works project. (Reuters, Wednesday)
