Attorney General Defends Warrantless Eavesdropping


“Attorney General Alberto Gonzales staunchly defended President Bush's order for warrantless eavesdropping on Monday while critics warned of what California Sen. Dianne Feinstein called a slippery slope that could erode Americans' civil liberties.” (San Francisco Chronicle, Tuesday)

The claim to such broad presidential powers would raise a few Founders' eyebrows.
