Along with brothers Mark and Peter, Stephen R. “Steve” Hennessy owns and operates his family’s Atlanta-based Hennessy Automobile Companies. The largest privately held automobile retailer in the state of Georgia, Hennessy is also one of the leading retailers in the Southeast. The company markets a broad cross section of Domestic, European and Japanese new and used vehicles.

An Atlanta native, Steve earned a Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and began his career in the securities business in Memphis, Tennessee. After almost ten years in Memphis, Steve returned to Atlanta and began his automotive career.

Very active in community and civic organizations, Steve currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of the Metro Atlanta YMCA, the Board of Trustees of Atlanta’s Woodward Academy, and the Board of Directors of SunTrust Bank of Atlanta. He is a former Trustee for Atlanta International School and past Chairman of the Southern Regional Medical Center Foundation. He is a former member of the Board of the Southern Center for International Studies and the Shepherd Center Foundation in Atlanta. Along with managing roles in numerous automotive industry organizations over the years, Steve was President and chairman of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, of which he has been an active member since 2000.
