For Writers: Upcoming Issue Theme

We’d like to start giving potential writers a brief heads up on upcoming issues. This may be a kind of spoiler for people who like our issues to be a surprise. If so, stop reading now.

An upcoming issue for us will be themed “power.” We’re looking for pieces on themes like:

  • crony capitalism
  • the rise of the police state
  • unchecked, unaccountable elites
  • the psychology of power
  • decentralization of power

If you like power, which is to say, if this sort of thing is in your wheelhouse, send pitches or pieces to our managing editor at [email protected]. Keep in mind we'd like the writing to be accessible and non-academic, so that it appeals to a wide audience, particularly young adults.

  • The Freeman is the flagship publication of the Foundation for Economic Education and one of the oldest and most respected journals of liberty in America. For more than 50 years it has uncompromisingly defended the ideals of the free society.
