FEE POLICY ON SUBMISSIONS for FEE.org

  • We welcome submissions on a broad range of topics that resonate with FEE’s mission of advancing free markets, property rights, limited government and individual liberty.
  • Submissions must be the author’s own work. Any elements derived from other published sources or the work of other writers must be acknowledged. Copyright infringement, plagiarism, and failure to provide adequate attribution will not be tolerated.
  • All content submitted to FEE must be your original work and not previously published elsewhere. This includes your own platform (unless otherwise permitted by a FEE editor).
  • Artificial Intelligence Tools and Chatbots: We encourage you to use these AI tools for brainstorming, research, and productivity hacks. But do not submit AI-generated content in whole or part. Articles must be entirely written by the author.
  • You are responsible for your article’s originality, accuracy, integrity, and quality. You should always check and verify the accuracy of your submission and cite original sources.
  • Conflicts of interest: we understand that many of our contributors are specialists in their respective fields and will be connected to, or employed in these sectors. However, if you are writing about (or linking to) any organization, company, or group with which you are personally involved or in which you have a financial interest, this must be acknowledged.
  • Anonymity: We do not accept anonymous submissions, and will not retrospectively “anonymize” pieces that we have published on our sites.

Guidance

  • FEE aims to provide content accessible to the general reader. Please don’t use excessive jargon or uncommon technical terms.
  • Aim for 800–-1,200 words for a submission to our Commentary page.
  • Images and illustrations: FEE assumes primary responsibility for the packaging and presentation of your piece, including title and image.

Compensation

We generally do not pay writers for unsolicited submissions.

Rights

FEE asks for no exclusive rights to any article. FEE takes no rights from you but embraces the right to distribute articles accepted for publication in any format, including print, web, e-reader, and formats currently known or yet to be discovered. FEE has maintained an open-reprint policy from its inception. We use the Creative Commons CC-by guidelines. In cases where an author’s content is syndicated, we will use specific language to preclude CC-by.
