Senate Approves Bill to Empower Postal Rate Commission


“A bill intended to improve the finances and operations of the U.S. Postal Service won Senate approval yesterday despite last-minute opposition by the management of the agency. . . . The bill seeks to improve postal finances but would also give more power to the independent Postal Rate Commission, changing it to a regulatory agency with authority to rule on postal rates and other activities.” (Washington Post, Friday)
