SFL University of Minnesota Student Conference: Ending the War on Drugs
Launched in 1971 President Nixon, the “War on Drugs” has shattered families and communities, skyrocketed the incarceration of thousands of non-violent offenders throughout the nation, and deprived citizens of their basic rights–most importantly, the drug war has been an engine of racial injustice and disparity.
The U.S. leads the world in incarceration rates and it is up to our generation to stand up and speak up against laws that overwhelmingly target specific racial, social, and economic groups that deprive their members of the right to individual liberty.
LUNCH IS INCLUDED AND THERE WILL BE A SOCIAL AFTER. Come out, participate in the cause, and network with incredible leaders from the region!
Charlie Gers, FEE Campus Ambassador and SFL Campus Coordinator, is the Director of this conference which is sponsored by Students for Liberty.
