Liberty International World Conference August 12-15, 2018

Sunday, August 12, 2018 - Wednesday, August 15, 2018
Grand Ascot Hotel ****

Lawrence W. Reed and Pedro Mutzig are speaking at this event. Sponsored by Freedom and Entrepreneurship, Liberty International, PAFERE Foundation.

The 2018 Liberty International World Conference will be held in Krakow, second biggest city in Poland, full of historical sites and called a cultural capitol of the country. Krakow survived World War II intact, and is full of magnificent old buildings, art, music, and fine food. Everybody we know who has been to Krakow raves about it.

Krakow is also an important city in Polish history of liberty. Here, on the main square, Tadeusz Kościuszko, hero of three nations, Poles, Americans and Belarusians, swore to protect the country against the partitions. Also, Krakow was a city where Adam Heydel. Adam Krzyżanowski and Ferdynand Zweig established pre-war Austrian/neoclassical Krakow School of Economics. Now, we would like to add another chapter to that story.

The lead host for the Krakow conference is Freedom and Entrepreneurship Foundation, represented by Jacek Spendel, founder and president of the organization, and vice-president, Dr. Marcin Chmielowski. Foundation is concentrated on educational and movie projects and both Jacek and Marcin are leading libertarian activists in Poland. The main partner of the conference is Polish-American Foundation for Economic Research and Education (PAFERE) and will be representing by Jan Kuban, president of the organization. PAFERE also runs seminars, assists with the Liberty Camps, and is very active in both translating liberty classics and in current publishing aimed primarily at the introductory level.

The main goal of the conference is to introduce current libertarian points of interest to the already liberty-oriented audience. Polish libertarian movement is growing but it still lacks scale and professional approach. By organizing the conference, we want to introduce some new ideas for rethinking, new approaches for sound pro-liberty actions and also help in networking, which we see as a key to being a more successful libertarian. Range of topics that will be discussed will vary from roots of theoretical approach to practical case-studies based on know-how delivered by entrepreneurs and activists. Conference will be divided into lectures with Q&A sessions, panel discussions and time for less formal networking activities.

Also among the speakers is FEE seminar alum and former FEE intern Pedro Mutzig from Vitória, Brazil. Pedro, now a law student, has been an activist for liberty ideas in his country, including serving as president of Students for Liberty in his state of Espírito Santo.
