That inflation will come seems inevitable - as to when and how long the government can seem to hold off that decline continues to surprise me. Whether the gas prices lead the way or some other crucial commodity - What is sure to rise eventually is the overall price for food. Any significant rise in the price of foods will almost assuredly bring about calls for "Price Controls". The bulk of the U.S. citizenry is now so economically inept that they will go along and demand that government enact such a program. Hard to imagine I'm sure; but, can you picture walking down the aisles at Walmart or Costco and finding that the shelves are not stocked with food? Yet this is exactly what a system of price controls will bring about. While I do not want to sound like a nut - perhaps it is a good time to follow the Boy Scout Motto and "Be Prepared".

With the government borrowing half of what it spends and a portion of the remainder being provided by the Fed's printing press there is little doubt to the damage that is being done to this country. The GDP will be down 20% while inflation will hit double digits.

What are your thoughts on when we will feel the real effects of the spend and run policies of this administration? One area that we are seeing now is at the gas pump with a weak dollar creating a higher crude oil cost.
